Description
After months of delays, Auburn police officer Jeffrey Nelson was sentenced for the 2019 murder of Jesse Sarey on Thursday.
Nelson shot and killed Sarey outside of an Auburn grocery store in May of 2019.
On Thursday, the judge presiding over the case sentenced Nelson to 16 years and eight months for the second-degree murder charge and 10 years and three months for the first-degree assault charge. The sentences will run concurrently.
