The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion timeline comes and goes. Thousands of federal DEI employees learned on Jan. 22 that they have been put on paid administrative leave. That's thanks to a new executive action from President Donald Trump, giving a deadline of Wednesday evening, for department heads to put workers on notice. The order comes as the president plans to shut down DEI programs, and ultimately fire those workers. As of Wednesday evening, all DEI websites and social media accounts related to the federal government have been mandated to be taken down as well.
