Description
Keeping your family safe and connected is important, especially with the upcoming holidays. Verizon is stepping up to help with an innovative solution, the Verizon Family app.
“We really want to give parents peace of mind,” said Adi Wineland, Verizon tech expert. “One of the biggest questions that parents are always asking their kid is: ‘Where are you?’”
The Verizon Family app is free to all Verizon customers and has a location sharing feature, which uses both GPS and network location. Parents can view family members' locations on the Family Map and check that they've safely made it to their destination. You can also set up automated location alerts.
“Setting up those automated alerts is great, and you’ll know if someone for some reason doesn’t arrive on time,” Wineland said.
The app also includes call and text monitoring, allowing parents to view who their kids are talking to, in addition to driving insights. Teens can view their own overall driving score daily or for the past seven days. It shows phone usage while the car is moving, speeding, hard corners, rapid acceleration, hard braking and crash detection.
“It’s a really great way, especially with winter here and snow and ice, combined with teen drivers, it’s a great way to just promote positive, good driving behavior,” Wineland said.
You can use the app on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6. This foldable 5G device is compact and durable with a 6.7” display.
“I’ve really felt that Samsung has just totally upped the game with cameras,” Wineland said. “This can take great photos in bright light, which a lot of phones struggle with.”
The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 headphones pair well with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and deliver immersive audio quality. They provide a customized listening experience based on the environment you’re in and can translate languages in real-time as someone is talking.
To liven up your holiday gatherings, the Soundcore Boom 2 is a powerful, portable and lightweight speaker with 24 hours of play time.
“You can rest assured that at all the holiday parties, the music is just going to keep going,” Wineland said.
Download the Verizon Family app for free on the App Store and Google Play. For more information about the app, visit the Verizon website.
