Description
A man from the Seattle area was arrested Wednesday in connection to the death of a 7-year-old girl after he fled the state to escape charges, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Demiko A. Fox, who lived in Kirkland at the time of the girl's death, is suspected of second-degree murder after a child in his care was brought to a local hospital with "no pulse and obvious signs of abuse" April 11, according to a press release. The girl was stabilized, but due to an acute traumatic brain injury, she later died April 17. The King County medical examiner ruled the girl's death a homicide on July 17.
Kirkland police tracked the suspect to a hotel in Bow, N.H. With help from the U.S. Marshals Service and the Bow Police Department, the suspect was taken into custody without incident on Wednesday morning and booked into jail as a fugitive of justice.
