A father is dead and his 10-year-old son is in the hospital after an incident at the Wildcat Lake boat launch in Bremerton on July 11. Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue was sent to the lake for reports of the boy and father under water around 6:40 p.m. Initial information coming in "depicted a chaotic scene," CKF&R wrote in a statement. There were conflicting reports of where the incident occurred: Wildcat Lake Park or the boat launch. It was eventually determined to be the boat launch.
