Authorities are investigating human remains that were found Wednesday near a Gig Harbor transit center. The Pierce County Sheriff's Department said a citizen found human remains along a creek near the Purdy Park and Ride just after 5:45 p.m. The citizen led the deputies to the creek where human remains were found, according to a Facebook post from the department Thursday. Officials said the human remains were taken to the medical examiner's officer for investigation.
