Anyone in Pierce County or the surrounding western Washington area who is looking to adopt a new pet got some good news Wednesday. The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County announced that it is waiving adoption fees for adult dogs, adult cats and all critters through Sunday, June 16, due to kennel capacity. The organization says some single kennels are now housing two or even three dogs, prompting the set up of temporary kennels. Over 500 pets have been taken in just in the last two weeks, the humane society said.
