Description
The man arrested in connection to a crash that killed a man and injured a child in Burien in February made his first court appearance on Wednesday.
Pedro Garcia pleaded not guilty to charges of vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and felony hit and run on Wednesday. He is being held on a $500,000 bail. His next court hearing is scheduled for March 27.
The King County Sheriff's Office said the incident began when deputies spotted a stolen vehicle on Feb. 25 in the Sunset Park area. Authorities said Garcia noticed deputies following him and took off at a high speed. Deputies did not initiate a pursuit but followed the direction the suspect fled.
