Neighbors in the city of Renton are debating the proposal to raise the minimum wage. Currently, the statewide minimum wage is $15.74 an hour. There is a campaign to raise it to more than $19 in Renton. The topic will be discussed at Monday night’s city council meeting. The Raise the Wage Renton campaign gathered enough signatures to put the initiative in the February Special Election, but organizers want city council members to adopt the measure outright.
