Description
The Seahawks had a rough day all around against the Baltimore Ravens, losing 37-3 on the road.
“They just didn’t play very well,” Terry Hollimon said. “I think when you look at the game as a whole, the Seahawks just got bullied.”
The Seahawks had just 151 yards of total offense and only converted one of 12 third downs. The defense also gave up 515 yards to the Ravens.
“They took us out and took our lunch money, and it was ugly,” Hollimon said.
This was the fourth straight game that quarterback Geno Smith gave up two turnovers, an interception and a fumble. Hollimon says the offensive line issues have contributed to Geno’s struggles.
“The guys have been injured up front offensively, the offensive line, so that’s a problem keeping Geno protected,” Hollimon said. “Obviously that makes him nervous. That gets him a little squirrely. He gets into situations where he starts trying to do things that are outside of his comfort zone.”
The defense couldn’t defend the run game well, and the Ravens rushed for 298 yards, with running back Keaton Mitchell leading the way with 138 yards.
“It was an issue with not just with the scheme where guys were out of position but tackling,” Hollimon said. “Tackling was not there this past weekend with the Seahawks defense.”
The Seahawks will look to bounce back at home against the 4-5 Washington Commanders on Sunday. The Commanders are fresh off a win against the New England Patriots.
“Maybe they’ll come into Lumen Field with their confidence up and feel really good,” Hollimon said. “And we’ll be ready to come back and battle these guys.”
Hollimon says the Commanders don’t have a strong pass rush, so the offensive line and Geno will look to improve their performance.
