Across Seattle, in the past 7 days 10 people have been shot, two of them killed. According to the Seattle Police Department data there have been 25 reports of shots fired in the Rainier Beach neighborhood so far this year. The highest in the last three years, 15 in 2022, 18 in 2021, and 8 in 2020. That’s not the only neighborhood dealing with gun violence, that same data shows city-wide as of the end of June there have been 335 reports of shootings or shots fired just slightly lower than 2022 with a total of 363.
