Description
The Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR) confirmed that removal is underway on marine net pens near Bainbridge Island following a November executive order prohibiting net pen aquaculture in Washington waters.
"[The Rich Passage] facility is the last one remaining in Washington state on public lands, so once it's removed we will have no more net pens in our waterways on state lands," DNR Commissioner of Lands Hilary Franz said.
