The Everett City Council could be expanding its controversial 2021 “no sit, no lie” law which criminalized sitting or laying down in a 10-block stretch of the city. The council is expected to take up the proposed ordinance, presented earlier this month, during its next meeting on Wednesday. The existing law prohibits people from laying or sitting down within 10 blocks of the Everett Gospel Mission, punishable with a fine of up to $500 and up to 90 days in jail.
