Short profile of the Franco-Algerian writer Boualem Sansal, who has been ensnared in an unprecedented diplomatic crisis between Algiers and Paris. A court in Algiers is set to deliver a verdict Thursday, March 27, where he is being tried, notably for allegedly undermining Algeria's territorial integrity. The 80-year-old was arrested in November after saying in an interview with a far-right French media outlet that France unfairly ceded Moroccan territory to Algeria during the colonial era.
