The lawyer for one of the plaintiffs in Gérard Depardieu's sexual assault trial, Carine Durrieu Diebolt, says she believes "the prosecution's case has demonstrated Mr. Depardieu's guilt," after the prosecutor requested an 18-month suspended prison sentence with a three-year probation period for the French actor, who is being tried in Paris for sexual assaults on two women during a film shoot in 2021. The lead prosecutor, in a closing statement, also asked for Depardieu to be fined 20,000 euros ($21,500) and pay damages to the plaintiffs. SOUNDBITES
