French President Emmanuel Macron announces that he will speak by phone with his US counterpart Donald Trump "in the coming hours" and with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu within two days, after the recent, "unacceptable" Israeli strikes in Lebanon, including on capital Beirut. Israel has continued to carry out often-deadly air raids in south and east Lebanon since the November ceasefire, striking what it says are Hezbollah military targets that violated the agreement.
