Three and a half years after the shock caused by the Sauvé report on sexual violence in the Catholic Church, the French Bishops' Conference (CEF) is kicking off a two-day "progress report" conference in Lourdes on the fight against the scourge within the institution. The conference, which will bring together more than 300 participants, including victims and members of the Church, is being organised ahead of the CEF's plenary assembly, which will elect a new president.
