"Even those from working-class backgrounds can succeed," says Célia Batah, a student at Lycée Le Corbusier (Secondary School) in Aubervilliers, in the Paris region. The school has a high "IVAL" ranking, an index from an annual evaluation by the Ministry of National Education that takes into account factors such as baccalaureate success rates and the percentage of students earning honours.
