The trial over water contaminated with CVM (vinyl chloride monomer, Eds.) and manganese begins at the Orléans court. Residents of three municipalities in the Loiret are filing a complaint against their water union: "This is a historic trial for us because it is the first time in France that a judge will rule on the responsibility of a water distributor regarding the issue of vinyl chloride monomer," says Gabrielle Gien, a lawyer for residents, who have formed a collective for their defence.
