London's Tate Modern unveils a monumental painting by artist Joan Mitchell, a leading figure in contemporary painting in the United States, gifted to the gallery by Miami-based US-Argentinian philanthropist and billionaire Jorge M. Perez. "This painting is one of the most significant gifts that we have received in many, many decades," Tate director Maria Balsahw says of the six-metre-long triptych 'Iva 1973'.
