Description
“Many of us feel somewhat betrayed,” says Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFERL) CEO Stephen Capus, as US President Donald Trump's administration froze funding for the outlet in mid-March. The head of RFERL has said that the US government switched off a satellite that transmitted its Russian-language programme into Russia. The radio currently reaches almost 50 million people in countries with authoritarian regimes including Belarus, China, Iran or Russia, seeking to counter the official propaganda. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
