South Africa calls for the reform and reinforcement of the World Trade Organization (WTO) after US President Donald Trump imposed sweeping tariffs, saying all nations need to abide by the rules of global trade. "At an international level I think there is a general acknowledgement that there has been a disruption to the multilateral trading system, in reality the systems of the World Trade Organization have not been considered in the application of the executive orders that were issued in relation to trade," says Parks Tau, South Africa's Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition.
