Beijing says US officials had "maliciously attacked" it over the Panama Canal, after US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said China was threatening the key waterway's operations.
"Senior US officials have maliciously attacked China, smearing and undermining China-Panama cooperation, once again exposing the United States' bullying nature," Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Lin Jian says at a regular press briefing. SOUNDBITE
