The Vendin-le-Vieil prison is being emptied of its occupants, and the necessary work to accommodate some of the most dangerous drug traffickers by July 31 has begun. "The goal of the transformation(...), to neutralise the communication possibilities of the inmates who will be housed (...) to prevent them from continuing their criminal activities,' explains Marc Ginguene, the director of this penitentiary centre in Pas-de-Calais, one of the two high-security sites in France selected to host the drug traffickers.
