Description
"I think maybe the most important number is the fact that tariffs are remaining high above 20 percent," a trade expert tells AFP, a day after US President Donald Trump announced a 90-day pause on all tariffs except for those against China, which he said would now rise to 125%. "These are still the largest tariffs that the United States has had since 1909," Thibault Denamiel, a fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, explains, saying that the global tariffs reprieve will have "significant impacts on the US economy."
