Description
French Minister of the Interior Bruno Retailleau attends the funeral ceremony in Lannemezan (Hautes-Pyrénées department, southwestern France) in tribute to Captain Olivier Mariande, a member of CRS 29 mountain rescue unit who died after a fatal fall during an operation to rescue a mountaineer. Retailleau posthumously awards the Légion d'honneur, the highest and most prestigious French national order of merit, to the rescuer. Captain Mariande and the stranded climber fell to their deaths on Monday, April 7.
