Description
In World War II, it seemed the entire country found ways to pitch in to help the war effort. At the Knoxville chapter of the American Red Cross, volunteers made warm sweaters for troops caught in frigid battles overseas. After learning one of those hand-knitted sweaters was sent back to Knoxville more than 60 years after it was shipped out, we went in search of the backstory. (Originally aired August 18, 2011)
