Description
After a cloudy & cool start to the week, we'll turn the corner today with more sunshine and near-seasonal temperatures for the 1st of April.
I wish it were an April Fools joke, but unfortunately, the weather the rest of this week will be wet and stormy, mixed in with threats of strong storms and potential flooding.
While Wednesday will be much warmer (into the mid to upper 70s), it will be windy, with a few showers and possible storm midday through early afternoon. Some of these storms could produce heavy downpours and gusty winds.
With our approaching storm system, there will be an increased threat of strong storms just before midnight on Wednesday that will continue overnight into Thursday, which is why we've issued 10TV Weather Impact Alert Day.
All types of severe weather will be possible, so make sure you are ready.
This alert day will continue into Thursday when more severe storms could be possible, along with the chance for some localized flooding.
With the heavy rain that much of the area received Sunday and the additional rain Wednesday and Thursday, we'll be monitoring the potential flooding through the end of the week and through the weekend, with more rain on the way.
Showers will generally taper off as the weekend ends, with a shot of colder air moving in to start next week. Make sure to stay connected to the 10TV Weather Impact team as we keep you up-to-date on any changes and important details on the upcoming busy forecast.
