Description
Lesotho grants a licence to tech billionaire Elon Musk's Starlink satellite internet service, hours after denying it was fast-tracking the process as part of US tariff concessions. "The government of Lesotho has not presented anything to the United States government as negotiations have not commenced," said Lejone Mpotjoane, Minister of Foreign affairs at a press conference in the capital Maseru.
The small African kingdom was hit this month with tariffs of 50 percent on goods exported to the United States -- the highest for any single nation on President Donald Trump's now-paused reciprocal tariffs list. The levies were reduced last week to 10 percent for a 90-day reprieve.
