People in a neighborhood near Pasadena, California, were left rattled after a bear broke into several homes on June 13, 2024. Recently released video shows the bear scaling a fence and then wandering around a Sierra Madre neighborhood. According to CNN, the bear broke into four homes and one garage in search of food. The bear broke in through one homeowner's screened door, opened their freezer and stole a pack of chicken. However, police showed up, fired pepper balls and sounded a horn in an effort to scare the bear back into the woods. The bear reportedly dropped the food, and police then returned it to the homeowner. Only one of the homes was occupied at the time of the bear break-in. There were no reports of injuries, and the bear was not harmed.
