Description
In the heart of the Camargue marshes, France's largest wetland and a vital habitat for millions of birds, researchers Anthony Olivier and Arnaud Bechet have uncovered the continued use of lead hunting cartridges, despite a ban in place since 2006. Their study, published in the journal Conservation Science and Practice, reveals that lead poisoning affects one in eight waterbirds in the region, highlighting the ongoing environmental threat posed by illegal ammunition.
