Description

A southwest Houston funeral home owner asked for help removing remains due to building conditions, according to state officials. The owner of the Richardson Mortuary at the intersection of Almeda Genoa Road and Almeda Road said the roof of the building was damaged during Hurricane Beryl and hasn't been repaired. Scott Bingaman, the executive director of the Texas Funeral Service Commission, said the bodies would be taken to other area funeral homes for the time being.
