Description
The 2025 Atlantic hurricane season is expected to be more active than average, with a higher chance of major hurricanes impacting the U.S. and Caribbean, according to a new forecast from Colorado State University.
The seasonal outlook, released Thursday, predicts 17 named storms, nine hurricanes and four major hurricanes — those ranked Category 3 or higher — during the upcoming season, which runs from June 1 to Nov. 30. That’s well above the 30-year average of 14 named storms, seven hurricanes and three major hurricanes.
