Crews are monitoring potential hotspots following a 3-alarm building fire in southwest Houston Wednesday evening, according to the Houston Fire Department. HFD said a call came in around 5:30 p.m. to report a fire in an electrical panel near a stairwell in a 4-story office building off the Sam Houston Tollway near Bellaire Boulevard. Employees working inside the building smelled burning rubber 45 minutes before the fire started but were hesitant to go on camera. When the crews arrived, they aggressively attacked to contain the fire, but it got very hot on the second floor.
