Severe storms tore through North Texas early Tuesday, bringing 70 mph winds, widespread power outages, and structural damage.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch until 11 a.m., later lifting it for Dallas-Fort Worth at 6:45 a.m. Winds clocked at 70 mph in Denton County and 60 mph in Bridgeport caused significant destruction.

The storms also caused 344 active power outages, leaving 17,342 Oncor customers without electricity as of 4:12 a.m. A wind advisory remains in effect until 9 p.m., with gusts up to 50 mph.
