Texas is scheduled to execute a man convicted of killing two men as part of a 2004 dispute with his boss at a strip club, and then years later prompted a massive lockdown of the state prison system when he used a cellphone smuggled into death row to threaten now-Houston mayor John Whitmire. Whitmire was a state senator at the time.
