An intense thunderstorm with straight-line winds of 100 mph caused extensive damage in many neighborhoods, including downtown. The wind blew out windows on several skyscrapers, knocked down trees and caused other damage. Some streets are blocked off as crews work on clearing debris and repairing damage.
