Houston ISD is voting on a proposed school calendar that will make the 2024-2025 school year longer than it's been in years past. For weeks, the district has asked for input on the proposed calendars and came to a finalized version that has classes starting on Aug. 12 and ending on June 4, 2025. To put that in perspective, the first day of classes for the 2023-2024 school year started Aug. 28 and the last day of classes will be June 5. 2024.
