Description
March 24 on The Story: For years now, the Portland Diamond Project has been swinging away in an attempt to get Major League Baseball into Oregon. That idea recently took a big step forward when they moved to buy a plot of land on the South Waterfront meant to someday host a ballpark. Landing a team is still just a hope and a dream, but in the meantime supporters of the project are trying to make the project as attractive to MLB as possible. That means getting the money in place to actually build the thing — which would involve the Oregon Legislature significantly raising a decades-old threshold for state bonds which could be used to back the ballpark.
