Description
Jan. 6 on The Story: In early December, Troy Price was sworn in as the city of Vancouver's new chief of police. He first joined in the agency in 1997 and has moved up the ranks since, then was appointed interim chief in October following the retirement of former chief Jeff Mori. It was never going to be an easy gig — in November, Vancouver voters shot down a levy that would have shored up funding for the police department and allowed for more officers and other staff. Now Price has to make do with what he's got in a city and county that's been growing in population without much luck in expanding law enforcement resources to meet it. The Story's Blair Best sat down with him today for a one-on-one interview.
