To register your vehicle at the DMV or renew that registration, you first need to pop by an emissions testing station operated by the Oregon DEQ and ensure that your vehicle is up to snuff for $20 to $25. These days, with cars getting cleaner and more efficient, failing the emissions test isn't all that common, and that's why Washington did away with its own emissions testing program in 2020.
