Description
Oct. 22 on The Story: Since the 2020 presidential election, county election officials in Washington state have spent millions of taxpayer dollars to make it easier for citizens to keep an eye on them and their ballots. Election workers labor under ever-rolling surveillance cameras and behind walls of transparent glass so that observers can see their every move. And yet, those efforts haven't been enough to sway Republicans, who continue to claim there are vulnerabilities in the state's vote-by-mail system. Some, at least, are still convinced of significant voter fraud efforts at play — though the evidence points to only small numbers of improperly registered voters, and predominately for innocuous reasons.
