Portland city commissioner and mayoral candidate Rene Gonzalez violated campaign finance laws for using city funds to hire an independent contractor to make edits to his Wikipedia page, according to a city audit. The Portland Auditor's Office issued a re-determination in their investigation Monday morning and said the purpose of the edit was to boost public record stating that Gonzalez is a Democrat.
