Description
Oct. 14 on The Story: If you've lived in the Pacific Northwest for long, you've no doubt heard about "The Big One" or maybe even the Cascadia Subduction Zone. While big earthquakes don't happen here often, scientists think we're long overdue for one. And regardless, the region is one of the most seismically active in the U.S. But if you've ever wondered why that is — or how we might have any hope of detecting a big quake in time to warn people — our Environment Northwest team has been digging into the topic. Tonight we'll bring you the first two parts of a six-part series on earthquakes in the Northwest.
