Description
Oct. 4 on The Story: The free ride along Interstate 5 between Portland and Vancouver could be over in as little as 18 months. Right now, the plan is still for tolling to start on the current Interstate Bridge in spring 2026, part of the very expensive effort to fund construction of a new bridge (which will also be tolled). This week, the Washington and Oregon transportation commissions each voted to advance four tolling scenarios for more traffic and revenue analysis — and although the prices aren't yet final, they're probably in the ballpark of what commuters could soon be paying. We took a closer look at rates and the process that could get this thing across the finish line.
