Regardless, negative ads in particular have a way of bending the truth, so it's important for the public to know the full context. We're starting our fact-checking this season with an attack ad aimed at Republican Joe Kent, who seeks to unseat Democratic Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez in Washington's 3rd Congressional district. In their 2022 match-up, Kent narrowly lost — putting the seat in the hands of Democrats for the first time in over a decade. And with Congress up for grabs in this election, all eyes are on purple districts like Washington's 3rd as each of the big parties try to swing things their way.
