WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert officially announced the WNBA's newest expansion team in Portland during a news conference on Wednesday afternoon at the Moda Center.
Also in attendance: WNBA Portland Controlling Owner Lisa Bhathal Merage, WNBA Portland Alternate Governor Alex Bhathal, Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden, Portland Trail Blazers President of Business Operations Dewayne Hankins, Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler and former WNBA player Kym Hampton.
