Description
Sept. 16 on The Story: Alex Tenison lives independently from his father, Larry, though their homes are nearby in Milwaukie. Diagnosed with autism, the 35-year-old Alex also struggles at times with mental health issues. But when Larry tried to get his son access to mental health care, he found out that there's a divide in Oregon between developmental disabilities and mental health treatment, and it can be frustratingly difficult for someone with the former to receive the latter. Now, Larry Tenison and some Oregon lawmakers are trying to push for a fix through the legislature.
