Sept. 12 on The Story: In the early 1990s, Dr. Brian Druker was a medical researcher recruited by OHSU to head a lab focused on targeted therapies for cancers. His discovery of a treatment for a specific type of leukemia was developed into the drug Gleevec, an important development in targeted cancer treatment. Now he heads OHSU's Knight Cancer Institute, a top research center for multiple advancements in cancer treatments.
