Description
A Multnomah County Sheriff's Office search and rescue deputy adopted a kitten who was found in the wheel well of one of their search and rescue trucks. The kitten was found only after the truck had been dispatched to a call 15 miles away at the Vista House in the Columbia River Gorge.
On Aug. 12, the truck was going to be inspected for a possible rodent, but it was dispatched to the Vista House before the inspection could happen, the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office said. After driving at highway speeds, search and rescue volunteers got to the Vista House and heard a tiny cry coming from the truck. Two volunteers remained behind, took apart the wheel well and found the black kitten.
The kitten was treated for a cold, the sheriff's office said, but is otherwise OK. One of the search and rescue deputies adopted the kitten and named it Vista.
